Three Sides – Terms of Use
1. Who I Am
My name is Crystal Roberts (GlowCode Studio). I created Three Sides to support people living with bipolar by tracking highs, lows, and stability, and by offering gentle tools for reflection, journaling, and daily routines. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) explain how you may use the Three Sides app and related pages.
By installing, accessing, or using Three Sides, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Not Medical, Psychiatric, or Crisis Care
Three Sides is a self-help and wellness tool only. It is not a substitute for:
- Professional medical, psychiatric, psychological, or therapeutic care
- Diagnosis, treatment, or medication management
- Emergency services, crisis hotlines, or 911
Always talk with a qualified health professional before making decisions about your treatment, medication, or safety. If you are in crisis, thinking about self-harm, or feel unsafe, call your local emergency number or a crisis hotline immediately. Do not rely on this app in an emergency.
3. Eligibility & Accounts
- Three Sides is intended for users aged 18 and over.
- Some features (such as Toolkit, Wellness, Pet, and Themes) require an account created through Firebase Authentication (email + password or Google sign-in).
- You are responsible for keeping your login information secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Three Sides in a lawful and respectful way. You agree that you will not:
- Use the app for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to break, disrupt, or interfere with the app, servers, or security
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or try to access the app’s source code beyond what is allowed by law
- Use the app to harass, harm, or threaten yourself or others
- Upload or store content that is hateful, abusive, or clearly inappropriate
5. Your Content
Three Sides lets you enter and store content such as mood selections, journal entries, wellness plans, support lists, pet progress, and themes. You remain the owner of this content.
By using the app, you give Three Sides a limited permission to process and store this information only so that the app can work for you (for example, syncing your entries across devices when you log in). I do not sell your data to advertisers.
6. Data Storage & Privacy
How your information is handled is explained in more detail in the Three Sides Privacy Policy. In short:
- Some data may be stored locally on your device for offline use (for example, through localStorage).
- When you sign in, your account-specific data may be stored in Firebase Cloud Firestore under your user ID.
These Terms work together with the Privacy Policy. If there is a conflict, the Privacy Policy controls how data is handled; these Terms control how the app may be used.
7. App Changes, Availability, and Updates
- I may update, improve, or change parts of the app over time, including adding or removing features.
- I may pause or stop the app or certain services temporarily or permanently (for example, for maintenance or technical reasons).
- You may need to install updates to keep using the app properly.
8. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise noted, the app’s design, branding, text, images, and code are owned by GlowCode Studio (Crystal Roberts) or used with permission. You may use Three Sides only for your personal, non-commercial use.
You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the app or its content in a way that suggests you created it, unless I give you written permission.
9. Third-Party Services & Links
Three Sides uses third-party services such as:
- Firebase Authentication (for login)
- Firebase Cloud Firestore (for cloud storage)
- GitHub Pages (for hosting)
The app may also link to other websites or services (for example, support resources). I am not responsible for the content, policies, or actions of those third parties. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you use their services.
10. No Warranties
Three Sides is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. I do not guarantee that:
- the app will always be available or error-free,
- your use of the app will improve your mental health, or
- all bugs or issues will be fixed immediately.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, I disclaim any warranties, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GlowCode Studio (and anyone helping me build or operate Three Sides) will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, or inability to use the app, even if I have been advised that such damages are possible.
If a court decides that I am responsible for any loss or damage related to your use of Three Sides, my total liability will be limited to the amount you paid (if anything) to use the app during the 12 months before the claim, or the minimum amount allowed by law.
12. Ending Your Use
You may stop using Three Sides at any time. You may also delete your account and cloud data through the in-app Delete Account feature or by emailing me if you are unable to access that option.
I may suspend or terminate your access if:
- You seriously or repeatedly violate these Terms, or
- Your use creates a security risk or harms other users or the service.
13. Changes to These Terms
I may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the app, third-party services, or legal requirements. When I do, I will update the effective date at the top of this page.
If you continue using Three Sides after changes are posted, you agree to the updated Terms.
