Amygdala Privacy Policy
Amygdala is a gentle anxiety + depression support app created by Crystal Roberts (GlowCode Studio). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.
Scope
This policy applies to the Amygdala mobile/web app and the website hosted at cpriss1979.github.io/amygdala.io.
What We Collect
Amygdala does not ask for your real name, physical address, or precise location. Here’s what we may store:
Account info (Firebase Authentication)
If you create an account, we store your email and a Firebase user ID so you can sign in. (Your password is handled by Firebase — it is not stored by us as plain text.)App content you choose to save
Items you add in Tools, entries in Journal, and content in Letter to Self.Optional preferences

Only these features require signing in:
- Tools
- Journal
- Letter to Self
The rest of the app can be browsed without signing in.
How We Use Your Data
- To save and load your Tools, Journal entries, and Letter to Self content.
- To keep your account signed in and protect access to your saved data.
- To remember your accessibility preferences on your device.
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
Where Data Is Stored
- On your device: preferences like text size may be stored locally.
- In the cloud (Firestore): if you sign in, your saved Tools/Journal/Letter content may be stored under your Firebase user ID.
Third-Party Services
- Firebase Authentication for sign-in.
- Firebase Cloud Firestore for storing your saved content (when signed in).
- GitHub Pages for hosting the website.
Your Choices
- You can stop using the app at any time.
- You can clear local site/app storage from your browser/device settings.
- If you use the in-app account deletion option (if available), your cloud data linked to your user ID can be removed.
Children’s Privacy
Amygdala is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. If we do, we’ll update the effective date at the top.
